Seabiscuit, the little horse who won the hearts of Americans during the
last half of the 1930s, was born in Kentucky. He was the grandson of
Man O'War, still considered to be the greatest U.S. thoroughbred ever.
Although his prior owners thought Seabiscuit's best days were behind
him, Charles Howard, his new owner, disagreed. His trainer, Tom Smith,
brought the best out of Seabiscuit and his primary jockey, Red Pollard,
even rode him to victory after Seabiscuit was retired from the
racetrack. In what is still regarded as the best horse race in American
history, Seabiscuit defeated the reigning Triple Crown winner, War
Admiral, in the 1938 Pimlico Special.
In the movie Seabiscuit, this true story of courage and determination will come
alive on the big screen. In our story behind the movie, you will meet
