Antwone Fisher The Story Behind the Movie
Antwone Fisher, The Story Behind the Movie

Abandoned at birth, Antwone Quenton Fisher grew up in a foster home in Glenville, Ohio - a suburb of Cleveland - until he was a teen. His mother, Eva Mae Fisher, was incarcerated when her child was born; Antwone's father had been murdered two months before.

Antwone had no real "family" until he joined the U.S. Navy. Serving aboard the USS Schenectady, Fisher discovered his significant writing talent. On the USS Cleveland, he directed returning Marine helicopter pilots as they safely landed their "choppers" on the ship. And in Pearl Harbor, he met Lt. Commander Williams (called Jerome Davenport in the movie) - the man who would help Fisher change his life.

Denzel Washington, in his directorial debut, has brought Antwone Fisher's moving story to the big screen. Visit our story behind the movie to meet the real Antwone and see the places where he discovered his hidden talents. Brought to you by Click2Flicks, a channel of AwesomeStories.com.
